Baby Kate’s mom sent us her wedding gown as well as her late mother’s wedding veil with lace. She was hoping we could make a coat for over the christening gown with the veil but the netting was too frail. We took off the lace and applied it over the organza overlay of her gown. We also used it to embellish the diaper cover, bib and bonnet. The bib will be used by her nephew, who is going to be christened the same day as her daughter. The shoes were fashioned out of fabric from the gown’s bodice. She requested ties for the back so it could possible be used for a smaller child and a Peter Pan collar, which we made out of the organza. These shoes were the largest I have made so far!!

Mom and Grand mom came to us with grand mom’s gown (can you say hello to the 70s?) to have a christening gown, bonnet and shoes made along with a bib. The bib was made from new materials except for the lace, which came from grand mom’s veil. The gown was very yellowed and we tried to whiten it a bit with good ole OxiClean. I think they were surprised to see it became a creamy ivory color! The shoes had the christening date embroidered on the bottom. We’re happy to report that the family was well pleased with the results…

Twin boys! Adorable didn’t come close to describing them! Mom had 2 wedding dresses to work with. From one we took fabric to make the shoes and bibs and from the other their matching christening gowns. The top was tuxedo shirt-like and the bottom was a pleated gown. Mom chose the traditional full brim hats. The shoes are embroidered with the christening date while the bib was embroidered with a cross. We can’t wait to get pictures of them!

Susan sent us her gown from California after finding our website and watching our video. Guess we looked “okay”. Ha ha. She said after watching the video she had no problem sending her gown across the country. We had a phone conference to decide what she’d like for her granddaughter after we saw her gown. Here’s what Susan said after receiving her finished creations: “I am pleased to let you know the box arrived. It was a thrill to open it and take out each sweet piece. Everything is lovely. I am so pleased to have found you. I’ve shared the photos you sent and everyone loves what you created. Thank you for being so gracious and easy to work with. I’ll send photos of the christening day. Kind regards, Susan.” Thank you too Susan!!

2014 has begun! This look was created, along with matching shoes with date embroidered on the bottom, an embroidered bib with terry cloth backing and to keep Victoria warm, a curly minky jacket lined with mom’s gown. The gown was designed with ties in the back to ensure a good fit, although when we tried it on her, it fit perfectly! Mom was thrilled that the dress followed the design of her gown. We can’t wait for pics of Victoria from her special day.

We began this creation using mom’s beaded, appliqued and ruched wedding gown. The over layer was dupioni silk and the under layer was bridal satin.

The straps were given to mom by her mom so she wanted them to be used in some way in the gown or bonnet. We used the beaded bodice to make the bodice of the babie’s gown. We decided it would be best on the bonnet.

Mom also decided she’d like a bib, in which we used the underlayer of satin, embroidered a cross with silver and edged it all with silver binding.

Baby needs a bib for his/her special day too! The bibs can be made to coordinate with with the custom made outfit & shoes. We will also be offering them for sale on our upcoming website. This one is embroidered in silver but we could instead embroider baby’s name and christening day.
